Tuba and trombone are both instruments from the Brass family.  Tuba creates the low "dumpy" sound in POLAR BEAR and trombone makes the sliiiidingnotes during the chorus and is featured in the solo.  The sounds are created by air (breath) moving through the tubes and tunnels of these instruments.
